Race Summary

George Russell (Mercedes) converted pole into victory at the Azerbaijan GP ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) and Isack Hadjar (Red Bull Racing) to complete the podium. It was Russell's eighth podium of the season and Hadjar's second podium of the season, while Andrea Antonelli (Mercedes) is chasing a ninth win this season, and leads a commanding championship. It was a tough day further back, with 6 drivers failing to finish the race. Carlos Jr. (Williams) qualified 9th but started the race from P14 after a grid penalty.
